Protect yourself and your family by learning more about prostate health. The event is free and open to all. There will be free prostate screenings available. Don’t miss out!

Lori Chennault 2026 Blueteenth Celebration of Ex Lori Chennault

  Atlanta Chapter, National Hampton Alumni Association, Inc.

Lori is a 1990 graduate of Hampton University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.  She shares the Hampton Pirate legacy with her parents, brother, sister-in-law, daughter, and a nephew.

After graduation, Lori began her career in public accounting in Richmond, Virginia, and obtained her CPA. She later moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, where she worked in the banking industry before relocating to Atlanta.

Lori spent nearly 30 years with Georgia-Pacific, where she held a number of leadership roles and most recently served as Senior Vice President and Sourcing Officer. During her tenure, she mentored many young leaders, led several large transformation projects, and participated with  the company’s Service Force organization, Habitat for Humanity home builds, and United Way efforts.

Now recently retired but never stopping, Lori is Founder and CEO of Chennault Advisory & Strategy.

Lori lets her life do the singing by serving on local boards that support children and families who need a helping hand. She also serves as the  community service chair for the Atlanta Chapter of NHAA, Inc. 

In Pirate Nation, we know Lori as Dynasty’s Miss Sophomore, a Student Leader, and Pyramid  #45 on the 1988 Gamma Iota line of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

Mark is a 1998 graduate of Hampton University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. He earned his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School.

Mark began his career as a commercial litigator with McGuireWoods, LLP in Charlotte, NC. He served as Deputy General Counsel at Newell Brands, Inc. Mark later served as Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary for Kimball International, Inc. and President of the Hospitality business unit.

Mark currently serves as Chief Legal Officer, Administrative Officer, and Corporate Secretary of Mativ Holdings, Inc., a global manufacturer and distributor of specialty materials headquartered in Alpharetta, GA. Mark leads all legal affairs and oversees ethics and compliance, internal audit, and information technology functions.

Recognized by Savoy Magazine as one of the most influential African American attorneys in America, Mark lets his life do the singing by serving on several nonprofit boards, mentoring young attorneys and actively engaging in professional and industry associations.

In Pirate Nation, we know Mark as a member of QT III, a Student Leader and Lamp #6 on the 1997 Gamma Epsilon line of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated.

Dr. Karla L. Booker 2026 Blueteenth Celebration Dr. Karla L. Booker
  2026 Blueteenth Celebration of Excellence
  Distinguished Service Honoree
  Atlanta Chapter, National Hampton Alumni Association, Inc.

 

Karla was a Communication Disorders/Pre-Med major at Hampton University. She is a graduate of Meharry Medical College. She completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Georgia Baptist Hospital in Atlanta, GA and her chief residency year at Saint Michael’s Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Karla practiced ObGyn for 13 years serving as Department Chair at Southside Medical Center, the largest community health center in the Southeast. She has delivered over 10,000 babies.

In order to expand her scope of practice, Karla completed a second residency in Family Medicine at Morehouse School of Medicine. She was appointed Assistant Professor and Director of the Maternal-Child Division there.

Now double board certified in ObGyn and Family Medicine, Karla is currently an Urgent Care practitioner through Wellstar Medical Center.

In addition to all of that, Dr. Karla Booker is an author and grief/wellness specialist.

In Pirate Nation, we know Karla as a member of Onyx I and Ivy #17 on the 1983 Gamma Theta line of Alpa Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated!🩷💚

Michael Byrd 2026 Blueteenth Celebration of Exc Michael Byrd 
  2026 Blueteenth Celebration of Excellence

  Atlanta Chapter, National Hampton Alumni Association, Inc.

 
Michael is a 1980 graduate of Hampton University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He also holds a Master of Arts degree in Business Management from Central Michigan University as well as an MBA from Syracuse University.

Upon graduation from Hampton, Michael was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Ordnance Corp, United States Army from ROTC. He specialized in logistics and served as a Comptroller in the Army.

After retiring from the Army at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, Michael provided logistical expertise as a contractor with Lockheed Martin before transitioning to his role as Regional Comptroller for the National Park Service.

Now retired but not stopping, Michael has served as a co-lead for alumni giving for NHAA. He is a dedicated member of our chapter’s recruitment team who loves to engage with students at college fairs. Michael is also a certified NCAA high school basketball and high school volleyball official.

Michael lets his life do the singing by giving his time, talent, and treasures to support our beloved alma mater. Whenever Hampton calls, Michael will be there.

In Pirate Nation, we know Michael as a member of Ubiquity and Sphinxman #7 on the 1978 Gamma Iota line of Alpa Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated.

Jack Manning, III 2026 Blueteenth Celebration of E Jack Manning, III
2026 Blueteenth Celebration of Excellence Arts & Entertainment Honoree
  Atlanta Chapter, National Hampton Alumni Association, Inc.

Jack’s guiding principle is, “Your focus determines your reality.” It is evident that Jack has been laser focused on his goals from Day 1. 

Jack holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Arts with an emphasis in photography from Hampton University. In 2007, Jack founded Jaxon Photo Group, transforming his passion into a thriving enterprise.

Jack expanded into filmmaking with a short film, Flipped, that garnered nationwide acclaim at film festivals. He works fluidly as a director, photographer, videographer, writer and producer.

Jack lets his life do the singing by mentoring young aspiring entrepreneurs. This summer, he will be teaching photography to middle school students.

In Pirate Nation, we know Jack as a member of QT III and one who was a friend to all. Did you know that he was the bass voice in a singing group called the Waterfront Harmony?
